Results
In the spring of 2006, TutoringZone was featured in a newspaper article in the Boca Raton , Florida area. An AP Microeconomics teacher by the name of David Robbe was interested in what this company could do for his AP students. After some time and effort on his part, David brought a busload (literally) of his students to Gainesville, Florida for a weekend review session of Microeconomics, with two of our experienced tutors, Graham Rees and Matt Hintze (who happens to be one of the owners of TutoringZone). After the weekend review, the students returned home to Boca Raton .
The students and tutors kept in constant contact after the review via email. Prior to the exam, Graham and Matt drove down to Boca to do follow up sessions for two days. With these sessions, Graham and Matt hammered down the ins and outs of the exam with the students. There were 23 students present at these follow up sessions. Shortly after meeting with the tutors, they took their AP exam. When the results came in, it became apparent that everyone's expectations were exceeded. “ It would be a fact that Matt and Graham were the key.” says Mr. Robbe. Of the 23 students who attended the follow-up sessions , a staggering 20 passed their AP Microeconomics exam. Of those twenty students who passed, ten received 3's, six received 4's, and four received 5's. Even more impressive was the fact that those students that received 4's and 5's on the AP exam were the first in history of Boca High School to acquire such grades.
Since then, TutoringZone has been working with several high schools around the state with continued success in AP passing rates. For example, TutoringZone's AP statistics tutor, Jon, had a most recent AP a passing rate of approximately 90% in a class of over 100 students. This passing rate is also the highest in the history of the high school.
