Award Criteria

All entrants will be evaluated based on a short essay (500-1,000 words) with the following subject:

One of the goals of any University is to take the students and help them to develop as leaders. Now, everyone has a list of 'leadership' experiences...all students at UF have a stellar resume chock full of beautiful titles. What we are interested in is implementation. How do we (TutoringZone), as partners in the learning process, help to facilitate a passionate and well-informed student body and empower them to effect meaningful change in the university community?

With that in mind, please tell us:

  • What are some things you would like to see develop/evolve at UF and how would you implement them? Think of new programs, groups, departments, curriculum, facilities, etc.

  • What are some things you would like to change at UF and how would you change them?

  • Feel free to respond to either/both parts of the topic. Essays will evaluated based upon the following criteria:

  • How innovative and unique is your idea? Think outside the box!

  • How practical and feasible are your ideas and solutions?

We're looking for real issues that can be discussed with the University and potentially implemented. Be creative, constructive and visionary.
