What the heck is a Test Prep Session, anyway?
When a guy stands up next to an overhead projector, tells a dirty joke or two, and teaches you everything you need to know for your exam. It takes about 3.5-4.5 hours usually, including a 10-15 minute break halfway. We know it's long…but hey, those exams make up most of your grade. Always included in the cost of the Session is a Test Prep Packet we have designed for with the college-age student in mind, and some extra help right before the exam (in the form of a Q&A session or 'TutoringZone hours'). For some of the classes(STAT2000, ACCT2101, ACCT2102, FINA3000, MATH1113, and MATH2200) there are also weekly reviews for students that want more in-depth explanation and don't want to wait until the last minute. Each weekly review lasts about 2 hours. There is more information on these weekly reviews on the individual class webpage.

How personal is the help I am getting?
Unfortunately, there simply isn't enough time to do private tutoring with a few hundred people before a test. But, we ALWAYS make ourselves available for any questions you have. Whether it's during a review, before or after a review, at a Q+A session, or by email, one could argue that we are much more in touch than a private tutor. Why? Because this is our full-time job and we care about the quality of the service we are providing. Wait, that sounds too rehearsed….how about this: We really do give a sh#@ about your grade!

Do I still need to go to a Test Prep Session?
First of all, every class? Every single one? You didn't miss one class when you were hung over or sick or just sick of your teacher? Really? Don't lie to me…..okay, that's what I thought.
Actually, a very high percentage of our students do make it to almost every single class. Seriously. The better a student that you are, the more you realize that every last bit helps, and that there are people out there (us) that can make things a lot easier to learn. The quick pace of the Sessions and comprehensive Test Prep Packet mean that you spend less time studying than you would have on your own. Also, with this relatively new Plus-Minus grading system, every exam question is more important. And you are always going to have questions…which is what we are here for. We feel like for those who feel really prepared, we can help them get those extra couple of questions they may have missed otherwise. Finally, we know the teachers and we know the tests better than anyone else. We know what you need to know and what you don't, so you don't waste time on things that aren't important.

Why should I subscribe to the email list for my class?
So many people don't realize how important the email lists are until late in the semester. But you need to subscribe as soon as you consider going to a review or getting the Smokin'Notes. Why? Very important information, changes, and updates are sent out via email. If a location changes (which happens very infrequently) or we want you to have more examples right before the exam, we need a way of contacting you. Also, before the reviews, you will hear everything about parking and other important stuff. Finally, it gives us a better idea of how many people to expect, so we can make sure there are plenty of seats. WE NEVER SELL OR GIVE OUT EMAIL ADDRESSES.
